Despite himself, TJ breathed a soft chuckle. "Until you get sick of spending almost every minute of every day with me."
Raising his head, he kissed Travis lightly before pulling away to lean back against the wall again. He took a drag from the cigarette, held it, and blew it out slowly. "I've never out-stubborned any of the Hammonds, you know. They dig in their heels and look straight ahead, and damn anyone who tries to tell them there's a whole world of other possibilities to either side of their road. And he's their perfect child." TJ snorted, repeating his mother's words. "Mind you, in the same breath as she said that they made so many mistakes with me, my mother also says 'maybe you're the best of us'. Some 'best' of anything. My own twin doesn't even consider my company a better alternative to some doctor he's just met and doesn't want to talk to anyway."
