Derek was taken aback by the rank. He'd changed so many depending on the year that he had forgotten that people cared. "Call me Reese or Derek. Whatever you want," he said, without trying to explain why the rank itself wasn't accurate, even if it had at a point.
He looked at her wondering who these people were, and deciding that it wasn't important. "Yes, for most things, I'd rather not have Deeks or Vance bothered, but sometime, they will have to be, so I guess it all depends on requests."
Smirking, he listened to her request. "I can't say that the Medical Officer was ever a medical officer. More like a doctor that dealt with whatever happened while teaching people basic procedures, but you're more than welcome to take over that." He was sure that they had all assumed that she would help when needed.
"There was medical training, mostly emergency one, but we can go over it and you can add to that. That's not a problem." In fact, he thought it was a good idea, especially once he ended up in his dimension. "Medicals... I don't think there have been any except for the pregnant women. There's been a reticent to do anything that leaves DNA, which means no blood tests, or anything else that would require labs. Basic physicals? Sure, we can schedule that if you think it's helpful."
The last part was so out of his field that he wasn't even going to touch it. "I'll have to speak with Vance about any genetic work, because that's above my pay grade. I also know we have equipment store elsewhere. Don't ask me what, because that's not my field either. I can ask what it is and see if we can get it for you."
