"Positive outcome only. It's been my motto since I was a little girl. It's the only way to live, and really if you don't look at the positive in life, we'd have give up long ago," she said with a smile. "How do you think I survived as the only civilian with all these broody men?" she asked, laughing. "I'm more likely to change them than they to change me." She nodded. "We are and we'll help each other. It's like Survivors only for real and without the backstabbing. It'll be good."
She knew it couldn't be easy for her. The military time were diminishing while the civilians were becoming more and more. Even cops weren't military. Marty was as good as they got, but he was nothing like Sam. It was just a different mentality, just like Peter had been different. "I know. I'm sure you'll make it work and if there are problems, you can always speak to Marty. He'll help if he can."
