Emails from Savannah
Who: Everyone
Where: Computers
When: Friday, January 4, 2013
Summary: Savannah works on team spirit

With Sam and G gone and Marty in charge, Savannah felt that even more than before, it was up to her to keep the team spirit going. It was going to be even harder with so many splinter groups, but she'd do her best

From:Savannah
To: Sean, Troy, Dom, Alexis, John, Brian, Claudia, Thomas, Margaret
Subject: Saturday nights and the club

I was hoping that we could get Saturday nights going again. I know it's hard with the new schedule, but I think it's important.

Sean, what about one set? We could do one live and then canned music for the rest of the night. How does that sound to you?

Thomas, I know you play the piano, perhaps you could join us with. It'd give Sean a break.

Margaret, an extra singer is always welcomed.

I'm sending out a general email telling people that we'll start up again, but aren't sure about the format and if they have any suggestions, to let us know.

xoxo,
Savannah

Subject: Saturday nights and the club

Hey y'all,

We wanted to let you know that we'll be starting Saturday nights at the club starting this weekend. It won't be as elaborate as before, but we'll be there from 2100 to midnight starting this Saturday. We might extend hours later, but we'll see.

If you guys have ideas about ways to set up the night, we are always happy to have more people help us out.

xoxo,
Savannah

T.J. stared at the email for a full minute before words could form in his brain. God, why did every assume that if you played an instrument you would perform or even liked to? Biting his tongue, figuratively, he tried to play nice in sending his reply. As much as he might have thought her a naive little twit when she'd spoken to him after the Disney trip, she was the wife of the man currently in charge. So, pissing her off was probably a bad idea.

Mrs. Deeks,

Thank you for the invitation, however; while I do play, I find no enjoyment in performing publicly. That being the case, I must respectfully decline the invitation to join your group on stage.

Sincerely, Thomas Hammond

Holy molly that's mighty formal of you. You're like... old, and I'm just twenty-three. Please call me Savannah, because yeah, no one calls me Mrs. Deeks except for Leon, I mean Vance, and only when he wants to sound all formal, so it's pretty much only for missions and when bad things happens, which hopefully it won't be for long time, because we've had enough.

Anyway, you don't have to perform if you don't want to. It's all good, but you can still join us to prepare for the night. It'd give us a chance to get us to know. Marty joins us when he can, and you should ask Travis. In fact, one of these Saturdays, we should have dinner together. It'll be great to get to know you and Travis.

xoxo,
Savannah

Savannah,

As you wish. I did not want to presume after such a brief acquaintance. If I recall from my own days of being twenty-three, in the accounting of that age, thirty-two is quite old, indeed. Of course, then my grandmother comes along and reminds me that anyone under the age of seventy-five is young and subject to her authority.

Thank you for understanding with regards to the performance. I'll have to speak with him, of course, but I'm sure Travis would be happy to have dinner with your family.

Sincerely,
Thomas

Thomas,

Presume away. I mean everyone calls me Savannah, and Travis is LAPD, which I'm told is one big, not always so happy, family, and since you two are together, you're family too.

Savannah

Savannah,

How about we stop at presuming upon familiarities and save family for later, perhaps after I've had time to reacquaint myself with my own.

Sincerely,
Thomas

Savannah looked at the email. She lived by the idea that if you didn't have anything nice to say, you shouldn't say it at all, and right now, she had nothing nice to say about Thomas.

She deleted the email. She'd worry about him when they had to deal with Travis.

That'd be so cool.

I can't wait to hear you sing. We should totally do a duet. How about Diamonds Are A Girl's Best Friend? Blond, brunette. In fact, we should do a show of musicals. We kept saying it and we never got around. It'd be amazing and Sean gets to play something that isn't pop music.

Oh, it's been a long time since I was a blonde, Sugar. But, now you're speaking my language. We'll work something up and show them how it should be done.

One set for a few weeks should be okay. And, if you guys want to do a second, I can still sing. How about we meet for a bit in the afternoon tomorrow to settle on a playlist? We can figure out from there how structured we want to get going forward. I'll get a playlist to John for the canned music in the morning.
