RP: Trio in Pittsburgh Who: Travis, TJ, (and Doug) Where: their house When: December 25, 2012 Summary: They have an unusual and hopefully rewarding Christmas
Doug worked on Monday, and then at night, he brought Rachel over for dinner. Travis might have gone a little overboard with the food, but it was the first time in possibly ever part of the holiday season. On Christmas morning, they went to a foster home.
Pittsburgh had either very large ones or very small ones. He called one of the smaller ones, with seven 'at risk' boys. He had gotten the ages and size and gotten them gifts. He knew they were not going to get hugs and kisses, but careful joy and a healthy dose of suspicion. Travis didn't mind it. In fact, he understood it completely, but they still stayed long enough to show that they weren't expecting anything back.
At home, it was more food. They were going to have Rachel as a guest at some point during the day, but they opened their gifts before she arrived.
Travis had seen a bracelet he liked. It came in 18K gold and a $34K price tag. He couldn't imagine ever spending that kind of money on jewelry. However, he still liked the stile, almost like a cuff, a sign of possession. He'd asked around and found someone who made jewelry. He ended up with a much smaller one in plated 14K. The price tag was also a lot less and the meaning was just the same. Hopefully, TJ would agree.
"This is for you," he said, putting one arm around TJ and kissing him.
