Jog, run, he didn't see the difference there. In fact, he didn't see the reason anyone would want to walk that much. "Why? I mean, seriously? Why would any sane person want to go that far without a car? Forget about running, why would you walk that far? It's why man invented the wheel that gave us the cars."
Tommy had plenty of objections about that walk, most of them based on principle, but also, he didn't think he'd be able to walk a fifth of that distance. He'd burned his reserve that morning with crazy SEAL guy. In fact, by swimming time, he'd mostly floated, even if Sam had spent way too long being near him. Tommy had joked that if Sam wanted to ask him out, there were better ways.
He shook his head. "I can't, okay? I can't run, I can't jog, I can't walk, I can't-" He couldn't sleep, eat without fearing that he was going to throw up, couldn't stay still, couldn't feel rested. The list seemed to go on and on. "I just can't. There's got to be something you want me to do that doesn't require moving." Or sitting still, or using his hands. Right, long list there too.
