April was extraordinarily happy, which made Eliot happy. Things were going good, which, unlike some, didn't make him paranoid. Blending in was the way to hide, not isolating, and while staying alert was still a must, it wasn't necessary to go to the insanity-causing levels that those in charge of the group insisted on.
