The last part stung, because he knew what Oliver wasn't saying, that Oliver would leave him without a second thought. He'd seen the colder, calculating side of Oliver since he'd come up. Oliver even sounded like Tommy's father, and it made Tommy hate his best friend a little, every time that happened, but Oliver was his best friend and Tommy hadn't been able to help for five years. He wasn't going to abandon him now, even if he still thought this was the wrong decision.
He took a step closer, not really trying to get close, but enough to step in front of Oliver. "He's been shipwrecked for five years and had to survive, okay? Is that what you want to know? He's learned how to stay alive until-" He turned his head and smiled at Oliver, before looking at the man. "Until he came back to us. He lost his family once and wants to go home, so there won't any pounding, mostly because I can't imagine a manicure would be possible right after and I don't want to ruin my hands, but we'll go with you, and ... do whatever you want." Although that part was debatable. There were always ways to get around obligations. He had life experience on that front.
