Boats? They had boats! Fast boats and he hadn't been on one in forever. Grinning from ear to ear, Mike's only wish was that he could have pushed on faster, but seeing how he had no clue where to go, there wasn't an option but to follow the director, even if he could see further and more clearly in the dark.
He spotted the island before they were there, even through the rain, but as good as his vision was he was curious to see what it really looked like in the day. He was looking out at the island when he saw - and heard - the shot.
It was when he heard her voice, however that would have had his mouth fall open if he hadn't been better at masking his responses. Savannah was alive? He looked at the others, but none of them seemed to have been able to tell who it was. How could they not when her voice was so clear? Director Vance's response did nothing to ease his own tension. Callen hadn't been himself since Savannah "died" and finding out it had all been a lie?
The Director was taking one hell of a gamble.
While his eyes stayed on the spot he thought Savannah was hiding, every other sense he had was focused on Callen, ready to push the Director out of the way if necessary.
