Summary: They get ready to move

Leaving the base was easy. It was part of their cover. In a way dropping off the other was easy too. They were supposed to split up. Even if someone saw them, it wouldn't raise any suspicion.

The plan was simple. They would would leave together in military trucks. They wouldn't be comfortable, but there was no other choice. The first stop would be North Las Vegas Airport. They'd leave Spencer, Kepner and Ford at the bus and taxi pick up and drop off area, away from the terminals and their cameras.

The next step was technically to go to the Strip and drop Kinney off, except that Leon had no intension of letting the man go. One, John would have something to say about that. Two, and most importantly, Kinney knew too much about the way they operate their finances. He knew about properties they owned, where things were hidden. He wouldn't last past the two weeks and then their entire operation would be jeopardized.

No, they would pretend to go there. Sam was told to use a sedative after they dropped the first group off. They would drive East on the 15 to Mesquite where they had vans waiting. They they would drive back West after destroying the military trucks, leaving just enough that anyone following their tracks would think they were going East.

With a two week head start, there would be no way to prove or disprove the theory and the government would have to wait for them to show up again. Leon wasn't planing on showing up any time soon. Also after speaking to President Allen, he knew that they'd have more than two weeks. The Nellis AFB would report the missing weapons to New York, then New York would wonder who to report this to since technically the Colonel reported to Leon, and by the time it would be reported to the Chief of Staff, no one knowing about this project would still be around when the new administration settling in.

Guilt was a wonderful feeling when it stopped the current president from telling the new one. Guilt and breaking too many laws. By the time the new administration figured out that this project existed, all traces of their existence would be gone.

They had time to say goodbye, something that wouldn't raise suspicion at an airport. He couldn't say that he was very close to Ford, and while he liked April, Eliot was the one he'd ended up friending. He wasn't surprised when Eliot approached him, and the request didn't bother him at all.

"What's the handler name?" he asked, before stepping closer. "When it happens, we won't be able to share a lot of information, but consider that if we really end up home, there will be more of the same. With so many federal agents, there would be a full debriefing and there would be no way out but to do what the government wants us to do. We have to go back, it's our duty, but if it's not what you want...." He trailed off. Eliot was smart enough to figure that one out.

"I have an email account, a separate one that I've never used." He had more than one set up for emergencies. It was one of those things that Emily had insisted on when arriving here and Derek trusted her instincts. "I'll show it to April. She can memorize it. If you ever need to get in touch with us and the other emails don't work, you'll have a way."
