Eric laughed. "It might be, yeah," he said. "It's affiliated baptist, but yeah, officially there is no denomination. It's not that unusual in California. I'm raised Lutheran." Not that religion was something he usually talked about. He blinked as she went on. "They stopped talking to you? All together? Yeah I'd say that's a lot stricter than mine. Mine just yelled a lot."
Eric still had a hard time picturing Deeks in any of the visions for her future, but he smiled at her as she went on. "I'd say taking it one day at the time is a pretty good way of going about things," he said. "Not all things, obviously, but it let's you adapt to whatever life throws at you. It's like surfing, you can plan on what to do when that perfect wave comes along all you want, but once it's there, the only thing you can really do is go with it and use trust your skills and instincts and hope you catch it."
