He chuckled when she complained in a round about way that John had wanted a simple party rather than something more elaborate. She certainly seemed like the sort of person who would enjoy planning parties. "August 8th." He told her when she mentioned his own birthday. "That sounds just about perfect." Though it was a long ways off and he didn't really expect much of anything for a birthday if he was being honest.
"Good, good." He noded when Savannah said John was enjoying himself, he seemed like an all right kid. "Yeah, most of them." He nodded and settled for, "It's different." When she asked what he thought about them. It made him itch slightly being around so many law men, even knowing they didn't know about his past, and then there was everything else to consider, any training that might come in the future and all of that.
"It's fine." He told her when she apologized again for the night before. "Yeah, it was great, not quite like home, but not bad considering where we are." Probably the closest anyone would get to home around here in any case.
