Re: John and Savannah
Having decided within five minutes of meeting her that a hug was Savannah's preferred hello, John wasn't surprised any longer to be on the receiving end and squeezed her around the middle before she let go.
"It's perfect. Really, you didn't have to go to so much trouble." He wasn't sure if she'd bought all this food or cooked it herself. It wouldn't have surprised him to find out she'd cooked. She seemed like the type. "But, it's good. I like pretty much everything. Thank you." Laughing a little, he couldn't help comparing her to Riley just a little bit, if only because that was a solution he could see Riley giving him and Riley was the closest to anyone like Savannah John had ever met. "I guess I don't then. But, see? You still helped with the decision."
Shaking his head, John smiled a little. "It's my birthday and I'm alive to celebrate, even if it's not at home. That's still pretty good, yeah? Besides, I love her, but Mom can't cook like this."
