RP: Halloween Party
Who: Public (add your tags)
Where: Team Lounge
When: October 31, 2012
Summary: They have a Halloween party despite everything

They were a resourceful group, that was sure. Even in his bad mood, Brian went with her and Tim to get decorations. They ended up with a lot more than Alexis had planned at cheaper prices. Brian was a master at doing this.

Cheap orange and black fabric covered all the walls. They had gotten a few dollar plastic pumpkins, webs, a skeleton, food, Halloween bowls and cups. She hadn't even spent close to the six hundred dollars she had collected. She was so going to put that aside for Thanksgiving or whatever other party they would have.

Sean had taken care of the music. John had helped with the lights. Everyone had helped setting up, moving things around so that people could sit and talk on one side of the room, or dance on the opposite side.

It wasn't anywhere as exciting as Webster Hall, but it was a party. They could have fun.

"Unnerves some people, or makes you uncomfortable?" Margaret hummed noncommittally. Reaching up, she cupped his chin in her free hand, tilting his head so she could better see these false eyes of his. "Well, if there's ever a night to make use of something that unnerves people, it's the night you're dressed up like an evil warlock. You should milk that for all it's worth."

She was about to let go of his chin when the world suddenly seemed to tilt on it's axis. It felt like every drop of energy rushed through her and out through her upraised arm, leaving Margaret feeling light headed. The hand holding her drink shook, spilling liquid, but she managed to keep hold of the cup. She tried to lower her other hand, but for one terrifying moment, her hand wouldn't move. She couldn't move her arm. Was she having a stroke? Dizziness, impaired motor functions...

At last, she was able to drop her arm, grabbing at Eliot's shoulder to hold herself steady. She was suddenly so very tired. "I think I need to sit down."

Eliot wasn't prone to panic, but when his vision suddenly started to dim until it winked out of existences, his heart jumped into his throat as Margaret's hand dropped from his face.

Blackness. Complete darkness. No skeletons, no metal, no layers of shades of white to to decipher.

Eliot felt Margaret's hand on his shoulder, shaky, and instinct moved his arm automatically to wrap around her to keep her steady on her feet. "April," he called out, tension in his tone.

April was talking to Savannah when she heard Eliot's voice. Even with her back turned, she knew there was something wrong. She hurried over, seeing him support a very pale and shaky Margaret. He himself was pale as well but but otherwise seemed fine.

"What's wrong?" she asked, reaching out for Margaret, while keeping an eye on the both of them. "What happened?" She was turning more towards Margaret now.

"Are you hurt in any way?"

"Get her to a chair. She needs to sit down," Eliot said. He was blinking rapidly, trying to get his vision to return, to no avail.

April looked up at Eliot, every bone in her body telling her that there was something off. She knew his face, she knew him, and there was something more going on than met the eye. Whatever it was though would have to wait for now. Quickly, April pulled over a chair and helped Margaret sit down.

Once she was sitting, April crouched in front of her, looking her over, checking her pulse and looking for injuries. "So now, can one of you tell me what happened?" she asked again. Without information it was hard to make an assessment, especially since there were no visible injuries of any kind.

Sitting was a blessing and Margaret took a deep breath while the young couple exchanged words. She let the doctor check her vitals. But, other than being extremely tired, Margaret didn't feel anything wrong. The vertigo had passed and she could move her arm again. She must have just panicked when the dizziness started. It was so unexpected.

"No, no, I'm fine. Just a little tired. Too much excitement for an old lady, maybe." That was bullshit. She didn't believe in too much excitement just because she was old. But, she wasn't going to be fussed over.

Just to be certain, April ran a double check of her vitals, but she found a steady pulse and slowly color was returning to her cheeks. She looked up at Eliot, who was still just as pale, and just one glance at him she knew that there was something else wrong.

She smiled at Margaret. "Well your vitals seems okay, but I would still like to know what happened. Only that way can I rule out something more serious."

"Eliot? What did you see happening?"

Eliot swallowed past the lump of fear, and answered raggedly, "I can't see." He closed his eyes, put his hand over his eyelids, and pressed. "My vision - it's gone."
