Re: Derek/Nell
Nell was so used to Derek's manner by now that the directive didn't even register. Had almost anyone else gripped her arm like that, she probably wouldn't have stayed so calm, of course. But, really, with Derek it usually just meant questions or conversation he didn't want to have in front of everyone. He'd have weapons drawn if there was actual trouble, despite the words and tone used.
Following him into the kitchen, she hopped up to sit on the counter next to him. The question, when it came, made her smile for a moment, before the implications sunk in and she frowned thoughtfully. There probably wasn't a lot of Halloween in a war with machines. "Not a joke. Getting to dress up and pretend to be something you aren't is pretty much the whole point of Halloween for a lot of people. Going to a any kind of Halloween celebration without a costumes is going to make a person standout at the very least. So, yeah, we really need costumes. As far as acceptable? Honestly, most people there are probably going to be wearing practically nothing. For guys, there will probably be more who are wearing actual clothes. Dressing up as superheroes is popular. Movie characters. So-called 'cool' jobs like fire fighters, cops, soldiers, you know jobs we do every day." She laughed a little. "I'll probably just put pieces together from my own wardrobe in some way."
