April had been looking around for furniture since they got here since sleeping on the floor didn't do much for her back. It was different than last time around though. Back then she'd been excited as she and Mike went shopping for the three of them. Even escorted by the guards as they had been, she'd enjoyed the day and picked out furniture that while cheap were also good looking.
This time around she found it hard to care about the look of things and money was a much more deciding factor. Nothing they bought would be theirs to keep, everything would sooner or later be abandoned or blown up. They might as well just focus on price.
She looked at the store, Eliot showed her, and it wasn't the first time she saw the web page. She knew too many prices by heart. "Isn't this one cheaper?" she asked, typing in 'target' in Eliot's browser. It wasn't good quality, but it was definitely cheap, and it was where they'd done a lot of their shopping in Arizona. Simply put, it was good enough.
"Also would we be able to get the furniture home that day?" she asked. "Last time around we had to order and wait for them since they didn't have anything in storage. We didn't go there though so I wouldn't know how much they have in the store and how much needs to be shipped."
"As for the furniture, mattresses and a dining set would probably go a long way. A night stand for what we need to keep close with us." The phone, the gun and the night vision goggles that they might need.
"And a proper couch," Nate injected. "I know we're going for cheap, but a couch is a must. And a small table so we can sometimes eat there."
"Why would you eat in the couch?" April asked. "But okay a couch then. But with a TV in the team center, we don't need one of our own. We have our laptops and Eliot can't watch it anyway. Listening can be done to the radio which again, we have in our laptops. A small coffee table can be good for the laptops I suppose." She didn't even mention a bookcase, which had once been so important to her. What was the point of getting books just to blow them up? No she just wanted to save as much money as she can so that if they ever did decide to leave the group they'd have money to take with them.
