They got paid on Friday. They needed furniture. They had to get it themselves. Luckily, they were going cheap and Eliot found what they were looking for all in one location. He corralled Nate and April in the kitchen that evening after the birthday gathering, with his laptop in hand and Cody at his heels.
"Furniture shopping, Saturday. Here's where we're going." Eliot pointed to the opened laptop screen. He'd done a search on multiple cheap furniture locations and mattress shops, all now on the browser. The one he pointed to was Lowe's on Avenue U, six miles away. "It has everything we'll need in one place. There's also truck rental available to get it all back here for cheap, and public transit for getting to and from the store. Someone do up security and talk to Hanna by Friday.
"We'll pool our money and get a kitchen table and four chairs, two mattress sets, and some sort of seats for the living room. We need to decide if we'll bother with anything else - TV, coffee table, night stand, a desk, whatever."
