Re: Sam/Sean
Sean wasn't really expecting much of anything this year. And, he was fine with that. He'd do what he could to spoil Troy for his husband's birthday tomorrow -- and okay, he still got a thrill out of thinking that word, husband -- and he wasn't much fussed about his own. He knew how things went by now and the joint party was more than enough.
So, he was a little surprised when his dad pulled him aside, but smiled and opened the box because his dad doing anything, even if he probably only remembered because Troy brought it up, meant more than whatever was inside.
Of course, when he saw the sax inside, he fairly well beamed and threw his arm around his dad for a hug. "Thank you! You didn't have to get me a new one, you know that, right? I mean, I love it. But, the chances are pretty high it gets blown up, which is why I didn't bring the other one."
