"It's probably not." Peter agreed and grinned at that. It was still amusing to see Neal with a beer in hand, knowing what he did about Neal and his tastes in alcohol. It was all a part of adjusting though.
"I think we all owe it to each other to be around." And perhaps this party wasn't necessarily the best sort of place for getting the group as a whole together, but when they could take time to get together as one Peter thought it was important that they all show up. If that trip out into the wilderness had done nothing else it ought to have driven home the idea that they were all any of them could rely on. And it was time they started acting like it - even if it meant showing up at parties with terrible lighting and no wine.
"It's not about talking, it's about being here together with the very few people we can trust right now." Peter reminded Neal. "You ought to know just how much connection is possible even without words, and I'm not talking about what Kinney is doing over there."
