RP: Savannah and TJ
Who: Savannah and TJ, with a side of Travis
Where: training
When: after lunch, September 26, 2012
Summary: Savannah is being Savannah
Returning after such a long vacation was always hard in terms of training. She knew how terrible those first days of training were in school, when no one could hit their stunts and tumbling passes no matter how good they were. This was even worse, especially for the new people. Two months were not enough to stay on top of Sam's routing. A week was even worse.
She'd tried to talk to Douglas already and he'd told her that he could manage. He was polite about it, but there was no doubt in her mind that he wanted her to leave him alone and she would, at least for now. She was stubborn and patient and she'd always helped the other civilians. She won't let him stop her now. Of course there was another Hammond she wanted to talk to.
During the first break, she moved closer. "Hey, Travis," she said, wiggling her fingers in his direction.
"Hello, Savannah," he said with a grin. "I see your husband abandoned you; I can keep you company."
She laughed. "I don't know if you'd call driving with G abandoning me, but I was hoping that Thomas would keep me some company."
Travis looked at the woman, who was a lot smarter than one would think at first, and then looked back to only a few steps away where Thomas was. The young man looked tired, but the restlessness from Disney was gone. Travis didn't think it was his doing or the training, but whatever Thomas still had. Maybe a little dose of Savannah would help. "He's all yours," he said with a wink. "I'll go get something to drink."
Savannah smiled and nodded in thanks, better than to acknowledge the excuse in words, and then stepped closer to Thomas. "Hello, there," she said, happily. "This must be hard, coming back after ten days of not doing anything. Sam is our slave driver, but he means well and after a while you do it without thinking. I've been training with him for close to two years now. I was one of the first to do his modified SEAL training, me and my husband. You should have seen what we did then, but it was just us, you know, and at the base we had so much more at our disposal, plus training was a twenty week course, and you get to learn a lot, so we had to do all the training at night." She put a hand on his shoulder. "Do you need anything? Water? Gatorade? A pair of new lungs?" she asked chuckling. "Seriously if I can help, let me know. I'm sort of the unofficial cheerleader here. In fact, I was a cheerleader at home, made national once and was on the way there the second time when I got here. I still train. This gym is great. Look!" She turned, took a breath and then ran before doing a round off back hand spring back tuck and running back to Thomas. "See? And I delivered twins in May, so doubly impressive," she said nodding. "So how are you doing? I know it's weird coming in before a vacation. You roomed with Travis, though, and he's nice. He knew my husband at home. He likes to joke like Marty, too. It must be a cop thing. So did you like the vacation?"
