Re: Derek/John/Anyone
"I don't know if it'd be worth having to answer all her questions." Chuckling, John shook his head. He hadn't really minded. It was disconcerting sometimes and he didn't always know the answers to her questions, but it made him examine humanity and machines. He came to understand as much about her kind as she did his. And, maybe that was the whole point. If he was supposed to be able to anticipate and out maneuver Skynet, he needed to know how the machines thought and having one always there was a good way of doing that.
Not that he pretended to have any clue what Future John intended by anything anymore.
"I can hear her already, pointing out the factual inconsistencies and the technical spec on everything," he added with a laugh. "Did I ever tell you she spent the night before our first day at school reading the dictionary?" Man, he'd thought they were dead when she started listing off all the synonyms for weirdo on the way in the door. Even more than trying to pass the metal detectors, he was still surprised some of her weirdness hadn't ever blown their cover. Either she only showed her differences to him, or people were way less observant than they should be.
Sadly, he suspected the latter.
"She and Mom both would probably have a heart attack about some of these rides, you know." John could just see his mom's reaction at the idea of letting him do things like the simulator here that hit up 2.4Gs, or the tower in the Hollywood park that dropped you twelve stories."
