Re: Travis/Thomas
Travis chuckled. "I'm in better shape, and when I was young, it was drugs or varsity. I picked varsity, mostly because the drugs came with guns, gangs and jail." Okay, so he hadn't really avoided any of that, but he had learned to enjoy the physical exercise. "They will stay there once you get used to it."
He sighed, because how was he to explain to a man who lived in a world of lies and deals that some people didn't work that way. "Last time we tried to talk, I didn't go so well," he said, before looked at Thomas. "I guess the fact that I gain a friend isn't reason enough for you, but it is for me. I grew up changing foster homes, eighteen of them, and every time I moved, I knew it was my job to make them like them, because if I didn't, then could ship me off, but as I grew older, I found that if I took the first step, people would make the second, and I ended up with some great friends, foster parents and siblings. I did the same in the force, and I ended up getting a lot of friends, a good partner. I don't expect something back, but most times, you end up with friends, and that's nice, especially here."
