Re: Brian and Thomas
"It happens." TJ chuckled, trying not to think about Sean. It had been more than a year since he'd last seen him, since the night he accidentally ODed. That wasn't a road he intended to go down again.
"People always do. The illusion still exists, it's just harder to achieve. When I was your boyfriend's age, I didn't just have to tell someone where I was going, I had a Secret Service agent following me around day and night because my father was still in office. Even if he stayed outside the room, he knew what was going on, who I was with at the time. And ditching your detail is not an option. My private life has always been an open secret. And anything that managed to be a real secret didn't stay that way for long. But, I can still try."
TJ shrugged. "Older generations aren't much better if they think they can get something out of it," he replied darkly, thinking again of what had happened with Sean. "If it's going to come out, it will come out. I'm just not inclined to help it along."
He raised the bottle of beer he was still holding, thumb sliding along the neck and circling the mouth as he spoke. "Rule two is I don't suck. Not my thing. Don't mind recieving, but I'm not much of a giver."
