Doug and Claudia
Football. They wanted to play football. Doug had never played football, he would have been happy never to play football, but they had to be sociable and likeable. After all, their father was bound to say something stupid and Nana would insult people sooner rather than later. So it was up to them to be the nice kids.
God, it was like being back in the White House, minus all the advantages that went with that.
He was so glad when they finally called it off. He didn't even know what the score was; that's how much interest he had in the game. Instead he went straight for the table with the drink and filled a cup (red plastic, what the hell?) with the margarita and took a sip. "Jesus, did they forget the tequila?" He looked at the redhead standing there as well. "Do you know where I can find more tequila and make a real drink?" And if not, he'd have to try something else, because after that game, he needed a drink.
