Re: Brian/Margaret
"Oh, I'm pretty sure it's an officer thing, that stick." Margaret waved a hand dismissively. "We saw it all the time when they'd come down from Nellis to drag the young enlisted boys back after a weekend on the Strip. No sense of fun at all."
Laughing, she cast a sly glance at Brian. "Now that is a sight I wouldn't mind seeing." Shrugging nonchalantly, she smiled. Margaret might be old, but that didn't mean she didn't see things. And two handsome young men sharing the room across the hall were difficult to miss. "He seems like a nice young man. I suppose my loss is his gain."
She followed his lead as he pointed out each other person, only to cast him another glance when he got to her grandsons. "Oh, those two can't help it. Good buns run in the family on their mother's side."
Brian was fun to tease, like an older version of TJ in some ways, she decided. He teased back, which was always so much more fun than the scared puppy look some people got. "Now, either you're talking about two different portions of that young woman's anatomy, trying to pull one over on an old lady, or you've forgotten the name of that second redhead," she teased. The rest of the names she filed away. She'd get to know everyone soon enough.
