RP: Brian and John Who: Brian and John Where:Verde Restaurant When: August 11, 2012 Summary: There's an anniversary to celebrate
When Brian worked, he wore a suit, even though they were at the school and no one would really see them, but if Vance wore a suit, there was no reason why he shouldn't. When they partied, it was jeans and a tight shirt or no top at all. In private, he went around naked.
Tonight, it was a different type of partying and Brian picked a a striped charcoal suit, with a black shirt and silver tie. He also had John's suit out (and he really needed to get him a new one for the wedding) as to avoid any misunderstanding about what he should wear. He also talked to Vance, letting him know that they would skip the concert. He had called the restaurant the day after John reminded him about the anniversary. He had made reservations, but had also spoken with the maitre d' to arrange for specific items he wanted, both things that he knew John would eat to humor him (caviar, fois gras galatine and oysters) and things that he'd actually enjoy (the pan seared arctic char and filet of beef). He also made sure that they had different desserts at hand.
Brian didn't try to go for subtle. It was hard to when they were wearing suits and skipping the concert, but then he never was one for subtle. Instead he told Derek to take the dog, told John to get dressed and then they drove with the rest, only to split up and go to the restaurant where there was a table ready with wine and food coming soon.
Vermont had one thing in its favor: its liberal views and Brian could play the gentleman when he wanted to, which didn't happened often, but tonight he was pulling all the stops. The more he listened to Derek, the more determined he got that John would experience as much as possible. So he opened doors, pulled out chair, kept a hand on John's back (and wasn't it ridiculous that he had to worry about a gun?), and when he took a seat, he sat next to John. "I hope you don't mind, but I've taken the liberty of ordering before hand," he said, covering John's hand with his.
