"I didn't say you got her pregnant on purpose, just that it was something that you've wanted," he answered. "Not a year ago, but six months ago. You just happened to have the kid right there without having to wait the nine months or dealing with the pregnant woman. Admit it, you actually like kids and want kids. I still find them tolerable." Unless they were his son, but that went without saying.
"One can always hope." More like one was desperate to have the nice things in life, things he was accustomed to since birth. "And the maids are from Mexico, at least in LA. I'll fly there to get it." Robert snorted. "I don't think this government knows what the fuck it's doing. I doubt they have any say where these things are opening up."
Robert kept his eyes on Mike as he spoke. "You know you need to figure out a family plan for this child, right?" Robert hadn't asked until now, and it was clear that they were trying not to take parents on missions, but sooner or later, they'd need to have this discussion.
