"Nice way to put it. Being told I'm going to have awesome powers and that we're in a different dimension... I kind of expect some kind of sci-fi drama to happen any day," he said with a grin.
"Where I come from, not being told the reason for something... Or not being told about something at all actually, it's really not that uncommon either," Nate said with a small snort. "It's also really not to do with security, more parents wanting to keep their secrets from other parents."
Seventeen?
Nate looked at the guy walking next to him again, more critically. He looked younger but the way he talked wasn't typical, he thought. Nate was pretty sure he had sounded way more immature at seventeen and he had been brought up with Vanderbilt etiquette drummed into him.
"I've heard about Savannah, haven't met her yet. Apparently I'm to expect hugs and cookies but also not be surprised if she pulls a gun," he said with a chuckle. "So what's your story? Are you from the City or elsewhere?"
