Summary: Sean has a short announcement and then back to business as usual.

Sean didn't mind waiting a day or two to tell people about the engagement. In fact, it had been his initial suggestion. Given how twitchy certain people had gotten over who knew about their relationship from the prank to pretty much every major step over the last few months, deciding who to tell when was a mine field in and of itself. And the beauty of the bracelet, that he hadn't considered before now, was that it didn't scream engagement the way a ring did. So, other than Dad, who knew, and therefore maybe G, no one would realize what it meant until they told them.

The best time for the announcement was when everyone was together, which left mealtimes during the weekend, indeed most anything over the weekend, out. But, breakfast on Monday morning was the perfect time. Nell had once told him about how Eric (and herself once or twice) used to whistle the team to the ops center when a case came up and Sean used that knowledge now, asking Nell to whistle up for attention -- and trying not to laugh when he saw Marty instinctively look up for the whistle.

"Everyone, if I could have your attention for just a second, I have an announcement. I'll make it quick and then you can all get back to your breakfast," he told the room with a grin. "Being the romantic fool I am, on Saturday I decided to ask Troy here to marry me. Of course, being the crazy daredevil he is, he actually accepted. So-"

A high squeak interrupted Sean and he looked around just quick enough to catch the flash of red hair as Nell practically tackled Troy in a hug.

"As I was saying," he continued, laughing. "So this means you're all about to be subjected to yet one more wedding. Now, as you were. I return you to your normally scheduled mealtime."

Savannah got up with a squeak and ran to hug Sean. "You are so lucky that you are injured or I'd hurt you," she said as she dangled from his neck, hands locked behind his nape. "I can't believe you are telling us this way. There is no time to celebrate." She wouldn't put it past Sean to have done it because of that. "We can still have a party, although it depends. When's the wedding? Where? Brian and I are going to help you plan it."

She let go of Sean and went to hug Troy. "I'm so happy for both of you and I can hit you," she said, smacking his arm.

"Hey, he's made the announcement. Hit his good arm," he said laughing.

Catching Savannah with his good arm, Sean laughed at the mirror images she and Nell made hugging both him and Troy. "That's what I was afraid of," he told her with a chuckle. With a kiss to the cheek, he let go as she moved toward Troy. "We haven't settled on the details yet. When we do, you and Brian will be among the first to know, I'm sure. And don't hit him. I might be injured, but I can still hurt you for hurting him."

"Here." Nell moved out of Savannah's way and went to hug Sean herself, stopping to smack his arm. She threw Troy a smirk. "Feel better now that your fiance's been abused, too?"

"Hey!" Sean shook his head as he hugged the analyst. "I don't remember there being any tradition that says you congratulate the happy couple by beating them up."

Jenna wasn't as fast as Savannah, but she wasn't far behind. "Who's beating up my brother? I might have to hit back," she said with a laugh, giving him a big hug as soon as Nell had let go. "Congratulations," she said warmly before pulling back. "I'm really happy for you."

"For the both of you," she added, turning so that she was addressing Troy as well.

"And if you need any help at all, just let me know what you need help with."

Troy hugged Nell first and Savannah second. Not that he could have avoided even if he had wanted to. "I'm with Sean, let's stop the abuse all together, and no, we have nothing set, but Savannah if you'd like to plan, just let us know when and where we need to show up," he joked.

He smiled at Jenna. "Thanks, and if you want to work, just get involved with them. Knowing them, we won't know what needs to be done." Not that he'd let them take over. He wanted this for Sean and he'd do it right. They'd deal with the details, get married, and then... everything would continue as always.

"Thanks, Jen." Sean hugged his sister tight, smiling when he let her go. "Sounds like we need to start a sign-up sheet for everyone who wants to help out," teased with a chuckle. "Brian, Savannah, Jen.

Nell cleared her throat.

"Right, Nell does the cake." Sean winked at their red-headed friend as he put an arm around Troy. He might as well get a hug in here, too. "No, seriously, guys, thanks. When we settle some of the details, we'll let everyone know."

"Let me know if you need me to arrange for security with all these violent women about," John interjected with a smirk.

"We can smack you, too, Mr. Baum," Nell replied sweetly.

John just smirked and hummed thoughtfully.

Eliot wasn't exactly close with, well, anyone, but he'd been working with Sean directly for a few weeks and he knew how important - and lucky - finding someone was. After the family and immediate friends were done with Sean, Eliot went over to him.

"Congradulations," Eliot said, with a geniune smile. "It ain't often we get real reasons to celebrate incorporated into our lives here. I'm pleased for you."

Most of the family stopped by to say something relatively soon after the hug-fest with the girls ended and then it was just finishing breakfast with their friends. Of course there was some ribbing about it, but this was why Sean had wanted to do it now. No one could make a big deal of it. There wasn't time enough.

So, he was a little surprised when Eliot came over, but grinned at the congratulations. "Thanks, Eliot. Although, I don't know about not having real reasons to celebrate. Got to take the good when it comes, you know? Or make your own when it doesn't."
