Their banter told him more than they ever could. He had never seen Eliot quite so relaxed with anyone that wasn't their team. Even when he was flirting or having sex it was different. This was trust on a completely different level than any of that. "Why am I not surprised?" he said amused, smiling a bit. Eliot had always been the protector, the one he could rely on for taking care of the team when he was unable to - or when he was the cause of their predicament in the first place.
His answer to the question made Nate worried, however. "You're a part of the office staff?" he asked, not hiding his surprise. Eliot had never been office material. Not only was it a huge waste of his skills and abilities, but he was too restless to ever be comfortable in an office. Not to mention that the only technology he was friendly with was the one they needed to get the job done. "For everyone but you," Nate said. "Okay, so give me the rundown. What is it you can't do?" He'd known Eliot to fight in the dark, or with his eyes closed, seeing skeletons? That shouldn't be a problem. "Why do they feel that you're in the way?"
