April had been inquisitive as to why Eliot was hanging around the room instead of being in the dining room working on his Braille. It was Thursday, and Eliot was one for schedules. He distracted her by initiating a make-out session, not much of a hardship on his part. Of course, he couldn't let the making out lead to making love, not when he was hoping for company.
The knock at the door was answered by a short sleepy woof from Cody, and Eliot had to detangle himself from April. "It's the new guy," he told her, smoothing down his hair. He waited until she was presentable - not that he didn't like her unpresentable, but that was for him only - before opening the door.
"Hey," he said, blocking Cody with a shift of his leg. "Nate, right? What can I do for you?"
