Summary: People go shopping
They had finally settled on Crossgates Mall. It was one of the best malls in Albany and while Sam didn't usually care, it did have several jewelry stores, which served his purpose.
They left the school at 0900 and didn't get there until 1130. It seemed that traffic in Albany wasn't any better than the rest of the Northeast. Two hours and a half for 88 miles. Sam was pretty sure that G was ready to blow up a few cars.
When he got there, Sam said that he needed Sean with him, but didn't explain the reason. No one argued, even if he could see that Troy wasn't pleased. He'd get over it, Sam wasn't too concerned, at least about that. Security was something else. The mall was a logistical nightmare, with two floors, plenty of exits through the mall itself and through the main department stores at different ends. Keeping everyone together was also an impossibility.
They settled with the usual rule that there should be at least two people and at least one should be a member of the field teams. Sam was willing to make exceptions for people like John, Dom, Nick, even Spencer, but not so much for Cooper or Kinney. Of course, if people attacked April and Spencer, chances are that they'd be dead before Spencer even saw them, but Sam was getting tired of arguing. If they wanted to die, that was their business. He would only help people who wanted help.
They had rendezvous points and times, including lunch at the food court at 1330 and text check-ins every hour. They had dinner scheduled for 1900 and departure at 2000. Sam still didn't like it, but it was the best he could do while for once, taking care of his son.
