Equilibrium evening out again, G's smirk this time was much closer to his usual standards. His defenses were still blown, but he was with Sam. Defenses weren't his first priority with him. "Mm, I think I am rather pleased with myself," he teased, thinking he deserved at least a little credit for getting Sam to let go of some of that control. His expression did turn to one of horror, however, as he realized he hadn't been as careful as he'd tried to be. Fuck. Well, not yet, but...damn it. "Your boss is an idiot," he grumbled.
Sam was as good as his word, a fact which G began to wonder if he was still quite as pleased by as his partner proceeded to drive him crazy. With almost anyone else, G could barely tolerate the average, day-to-day contact that came with working around people and not being a hermit. He faked it very well, but too much touching made him paranoid. But, the constant touching, kissing, idle contact was driving making him jumpy in a brand new way that had him itching for more, not less. It hadn't taken long for G to decide two could play that game, either. Only he was more subtle about it, he made the excuses because that was who he was and because he knew he could drive his partner crazy with words and innuendo was easily as he could with his hands.
When they were finally done and Sam took the plates outside, G got up and turned out the lights in the room, leaving only the glow of Sam's city through the window. He was standing silhouetted in front of it, wine glass still held idly in one hand as he'd made sure they kept what was left of that as part of his meager attempt at the holiday, when Sam came back inside the room. "I am," he said evenly, the smirk evident in his voice even if it was too difficult to see with his back to the light. He took a sip of wine before continuing. "I thought I should wait before correcting that. See what your way is."
