RP: Power Out of Control Who: Everyone Where: Main Residence When: Thursday, June 21, 2012 -- early, early morning Subject: Emily's power gets out of control and everyone suffers.
Emily was far more at home on the east coast than she was the west. When they'd been home in the states, they'd lived there. When she'd gone to work for the CIA and then the FBI, she'd lived there, even if the BAU flew all over the country. The East Coast and New England were home as much as anything had ever been home.
That was probably why she was dreaming about her mother once she fell asleep that night. If there was one thing to be said about Sam Hanna's training, it was that no one should have any trouble falling asleep at the end of the day. As soon as Emily closed her eyes, it seemed, she was back at her mother's house, trying to be the dutiful daughter while maintaining some hold on who she was as an individual with wants and desires of her own outside the image she had to portray for her mother's political and social station.
Had her mother even noticed she was gone? Did she still believe Emily dead? Would anyone know to contact Hotch when another her showed up when she was supposed to be dead?
Had her mother mourned?
As had happened before, the shift was gradual. Emily never noticed when her emotional response to the dream slipped the bonds of her own mind, when it grew to a physical presence, spilling over into the minds of all those near her until reality seemed to shift and bend itself to her subconscious will. What was there was left unseen. What was seen was not always there.
And still Emily slumbered on, unaware of what she had inadvertently created.
