"I am aware of that," Hetty replied. Although, even that would only be true for a short time longer and, legally, at least, he would be an adult. Youth, however, was often a more valuable asset than experience...and he had both. Young Mr. Connor would bear careful watching.
"The possibility occurred to him before he left this office yesterday." She could tell it was still vague, unacceptable. But, the thought had been there -- before I don't have a home to go back to. It was a single possibility among several. That was what intrigued Hetty. The almost instinctive grasp of multiple potential outcomes and the need to be prepared for each of them as best he could. "But, he believes he wiped out his own existence by going to the future. For the moment, that is fresh in his mind and he will be slow to act on anything until he is sure of the potential ramifications. He is a very determined young man, however, I don't think it will be easy to turn his attention away from his mission."
Passing over the file she had brought in with her, Hetty smiled. "Hate is such a strong word, Leon. Consider the amusement value to be had in watching him deal with some of the others."
