RP: Ash
Who: Ash When: 4-7-12 Where: House 10 Summary: Ash thinks about the situation.
Ash had gone on the shopping trip to stock up on supplies and some clothing that could be worn in an office setting, since that's where she now worked all day. There was no excuse not to dress appropriately as long as she could still run in the outfit. A month ago, she wouldn't even have thought of that need, and now she was thinking of coordinating with holsters if she ever could get the shooting thing down.
The office was turning out to be an easy place to be, considering she only had to deal with the frosty feeling directed her way by Nell. Ash showed up on time after PT, got direction on what she was supposed to do, and she did it. Her interaction was strictly professional with those there. When the Horde descended at lunch, she left to eat at home. It was easier for her to leave than be like the kid sitting alone in the corner of the cafeteria watching everyone have fun.
Now, she was in her new house, putting her bed back together with tools borrowed from Clay. She'd taken the smallest bedroom that was right next to the bathroom to minimize the smell of smoke as best as she'd be able. She wasn't going to complain about how bad smoking was for everyone around, not just the person with the cigar or cigarette. She'd caused enough trouble with the housing situation. She'd make do with a door breeze blocker and a lot of air freshener.
That didn't mean Ash was knew what the future would hold. She hadn't thought about leaving until Vance had brought it up at the meeting on Thursday night. She'd just been going to deal and do the best she could. Leaving hadn't been an option. But now it was, and she was seriously considering it. When they'd spoken, Vance had pointed out that she was a weak link, that she'd endanger the children, Savannah and their families, that five people disliked her immensely, that she'd be a burden to Brian and John, and that the Morrows could care less about her. That made fifteen of the twenty-five people at the ranch who'd be better off without her there.
Ash wished they'd been given longer than until tomorrow to decide. Things might change with the others given time. She'd been in this world less than three months, tossed into a situation that she'd only ever seen in video games, and was living and interacting only with people way different than her. She was doing the best she could to adjust, but it didn't seem to be working.
Ash sighed and moved onto another part of the bed. She had a lot of thinking to do before tomorrow night.
