Leon had expected a lot of things, he'd seen quite a lot in his life, but this? He hadn't been prepared for this. He took the file from Hetty's hands and looked at the picture for too long. Different dimensions and time travel, and if this boy was from the past, then what dimension was he from? Because he was sure that something like time travel wouldn't have stayed secret in their government.
He stared at Hetty. "Like we didn't have enough things to deal with," he said with a snort. "Get our best people on this and make this picture disappear from everywhere. In fact, we make everything disappear." He took the picture and pushed it across the table, toward the boy. The time to play nice had finally ended.
"The moment I stop talking, you start, and you will tell me all the truth, and I will know if it's the truth, John, because as far as I can tell, you have become my biggest problem. These scientists have already screwed with dimensional travel and I can't have them mess around with time travel." God, he couldn't believe he was actually saying those words. "Which means I can protect you, or I can make you disappear for good, and not just your pictures. I like the first option a lot better, and I think you do, too. I don't know from what dimension you come, but in this dimension or mine, kids your age don't fight wars or carry impressive fake IDs. So would you like to tell me your story, John Connor?"
