Summary: Formal complaint

To: G Callen
From: Ash Howard
Subject: Formal Complaint against Troy Bolton

I have given myself a day to calm down and not have this be reactionary to the verbal altercation between Troy and me. I have come to the conclusion, however, based on Troy's words, to email a formal complaint against him.

On Saturday, March 10th, I was kissed by Troy Bolton at the night club. It was not a peck on the cheek or lips, but rather a forced french kiss. While I initially brushed it off as a drunk action, Troy stated on Monday that he was "not that drunk". This means that he purposefully and with knowing intent forced a kiss on me without my permission, verbal or non-verbal.

Further, I am lodging this complaint on behalf of Alexis and Nell, whether or not they let him get away with such behavior. Feigning drunkenness to sexually molest women (or men) - and a french kiss is a sexual act - is wrong. Age does not factor into it.

This may not make me popular, but if it were Nick who'd done it people would be all over him about the wrongness of the action and he doesn't even know the difference between right and wrong. Troy does. Therefore, I'm filing this complaint against Troy Bolton.

Troy was always ready to joke, but one thing he knew was never to piss off your couch, especially if someone was complaining against you. Of course, he knew who was complaining and he didn't think that it was anything, he also didn't like Callen, but there was still no attempt to joke as he went to see the man

He sat down and looked straight at the other man, without saying a word. He could answer later, once he knew what the hell that bitch had said.

Prentiss' presence was no longer necessary and it was only G in the counseling room when Bolton arrived. It was perhaps the most subdued Bolton G had ever seen. While it was good to know the young man could be serious when need be, it was also slightly disturbing, unnatural.

"Relax, Bolton. I'm not going to bust your balls." Not for a first time offense that hadn't put anyone's life in danger, at least.

"I'm sure after that shouting match during training yesterday you can guess what this is about. I received a formal complaint of sexual harassment from Ashleigh this morning regarding a kissing incident at the club. While I would like to hear your point of view, I will tell you now the incident does not qualify as sexual harassment and you have done nothing illegal."

"I am relaxed." He was just not joking around. At the house, Callen was just Sean's relative, and he had no problem treating him like he would treat anyone else. Here it was different. Here, the man was the head coach and his dad had drilled the difference long ago. "My dad was the head coach. You learn to separate things very quickly. I'm still relaxed."

Troy nodded. "I'm not guessing. I've heard enough from Nell and Alexis already." He did crack a smile, because it was hard not to when thinking about his friends. "Sean and I have been busy keeping your job to a minimum, no murders and possibly you won't get a shitload of complaints about every possible touch in a work area. I hear indexes and color tabs are all the rage, so is research into an hostile working environment."

He shrugged. "I thought she was one of the group. We were at the club, I was buzzed. I honestly don't know how much, possibly around ten beers, but not drunk enough not to know when someone doesn't want to be kissed. I did it once, she pushed me away, I stopped and it won't happen again. I tried to apologize for it the other day and suddenly it was an orgy and I was trying to break up family," he said, rolling his eyes. "Whatever else she told you about Alexis or Nell, or anyone else, they are friends, we joke around, I know who does what. I'd never french kiss Savannah, for example, because I know to her it means something. To others, it doesn't. To each his own, but I don't need their Christian beliefs to be imposed on what I do with my friends. Nothing screams Christian value like a Jewish and bi man, right? Either it's because of her moral system or because she's still upset from the time I kissed Nell in front of Eric and they both got all prissy, and by the way, we were playing truth or dare, so if that's sexual harassment, then you'll have to arrest all the people at that party, because everyone did something to someone."

"Fair enough." G shrugged. If the young man said he was relaxed, it was enough for him.

He did snort at mention of Nell and Alexis, however. "I thought you might." Those were two young women whose bad side he was happy not to be on. And the smile on Bolton's face told G more than enough about the situation's affect on that group of friends. "Sounds like some of my partner's incident reports. I'll let Vance read them. But, thank you."

Bolton's story tallied pretty much with that of his friends, as well as Ashleigh's, and there was really nothing G could do about what happened. "I spoke to Alexis and Nell myself, as I'm sure you know, and have their word for what happens or not between you. While I did not realize the confrontation during training began as an apology, there was no need for me to step in when the matter resolved itself then and I would not be involved now had Ashleigh not asked for my involvement. There is really nothing for me to do at this point, either, except to extend you the courtesy of having your own say now.

"I might warn you to be more careful about who you kiss while drunk. But, it doesn't appear as though this was anything more than a misunderstanding." And he was not going to get involved in personal drama if this turned out to indeed be a result of something to do with Nell and Eric's relationship or lack of one.

"For the record, I'm not out looking to arrest or punish anyone. It's my job to take these complaints seriously, especially when the lines between our work and private lines has a tendency to blur because of our situation. Most people have not learned to separate things," he added with an inward sigh. "I might find the level of affection between you and your friends not to my own liking, but as long as it's between you, it's not my business. I happen to agree with you, no person's God should be imposed on someone. Morality is not in the purview of the training I give.

"So, unless you have anything else you'd like to discuss, I think we're done here and can put this issue behind us."

Troy smile turned wicked. "Sorry, but if she sends it, you'll get stuck with it. Vance is in there and Derek and Sam and just about everyone. You seem the only one that she doesn't remember touching others."

He shook his head. "No, nothing else to say other than it won't happen again." He got up. "Well, there is something that has nothing to do with this. One, Saturday night. I know Savannah doesn't want to sing, something about tortured souls and Irish band, and Sean won't ask, but any change you or your brother could sing a few songs, longer set. It means something to Sean. And two, tomorrow it's Cal against USF, starts at six, and..." He licked his lips, trying to make the hurt go away. "It was probably the last game I'd have played. Can I get out of training early? I'll make the time up some other time. Or do I ask Sam?"

G snorted softly. "Because I don't if I can help it."

Sighing, he shook his head. "I understand she's upset. But, I really need her to be careful. The last thing I want is for things to get out of hand to where I have to punish the innocent bystanders."

But, G believed him when he said it wouldn't happen again. Nothing in G's findings had given him any indication Bolton didn't back off when he said he would. The request to sing took him by surprise, though. "I'll talk with Robert and see how he feels. But, for Sean, I think one or both of us might be able to come up with something."

This was what he still hated about this world. The kids like Savannah and Bolton and Sean, the ones who didn't ask for this kind of life and had to give up their dreams because of a few idiot scientists. G remembered what Savannah had been like the day Nationals would have been last year, what Sean had been like on the days his concert and graduation would have been. Past experience made him a little more sympathetic than he had been a year ago. "I understand. It's really Sam's call, though."
