G snorted softly. "Because I don't if I can help it."
Sighing, he shook his head. "I understand she's upset. But, I really need her to be careful. The last thing I want is for things to get out of hand to where I have to punish the innocent bystanders."
But, G believed him when he said it wouldn't happen again. Nothing in G's findings had given him any indication Bolton didn't back off when he said he would. The request to sing took him by surprise, though. "I'll talk with Robert and see how he feels. But, for Sean, I think one or both of us might be able to come up with something."
This was what he still hated about this world. The kids like Savannah and Bolton and Sean, the ones who didn't ask for this kind of life and had to give up their dreams because of a few idiot scientists. G remembered what Savannah had been like the day Nationals would have been last year, what Sean had been like on the days his concert and graduation would have been. Past experience made him a little more sympathetic than he had been a year ago. "I understand. It's really Sam's call, though."
