"Sam." G shot his partner a look. He had this, though he understood Sam had a tendency to need to get the last word in when he was upset.
"That is exactly the point, however. Sam gave him an order and you countermanded it. That can't happen. The lesson he learns that way is that you are the only one he has to listen to and that's a good way to get someone killed. You won't always be there. He's going to have to listen to orders from the people in charge, as well as any unit leads we might designate. Otherwise, what happens when there's an attack and he defies an order and someone dies, maybe even him."
G shook his head. "You might mean well, but telling him to come to you that way, -- I assume so that he can fight you instead of someone else? -- does nothing to discourage the behavior or teach him self-control. It only encourages him to focus that aggression and violence on you. And, again, you're not always going to be there. How are we supposed to send him to school with not only the other young adults, as well as complete civilians, if we can't trust him to be able to control those urges when you're a good hour away and he can't fight you instead of fighting them?"
