Savannah kissed him back, smiling. "You're adorable... I mean absolutely gorgeous," she teased. "Go back to cooking now, because after a year doing nothing but coffee, you might not remember that fire burns. What am I saying? You deal with me."
She stuck her tongue out and then went to the fridge to take out the milk, and then saw the fruit sitting in the drawer. "Do you want a smoothie? Strawberry and banana? Or I can make milk shakes, chocolate. I'm spending too much time thinking about food, and smoothies are healthier so we'll go for those."
She used the other side of the counter to peel and cut the bananas, then washing the strawberries. "You know we never finished talking the other night." Good gracious, she could feel the blush just thinking about it. "About the church and names, and I was thinking at Jackson's memorial that I miss church, and I know I can't go to a Baptist one. In fact, I don't want to; I don't want our girls to learn some of the things I did, but I still need that in my life. I need God to have a place in my life, even if I'm having to readjust what I knew, and if we're to bring up the girls Catholic, then I want to see, learn the differences.
"I know we talked about me converting, but I think I want to learn more before I make that choice. I can still teach them without converting." She stopped as she turned on the blender and prepared the smoothies. She poured it in two glasses and put one on the counter next to Marty. "I guess I forgot to get to the question. Would you like to go to Mass with me on Sundays? I know we have to ask people, get permissions and all of that, but I'm sure I can convince them, it's good for our cover, especially if we ran away because you're Catholic. It'd build ties to the community and all of that, but before I asked, I wanted to know what you thought."
