RP: Jackson's Funeral
Who: Everyone
Where: the main house
When: February 2, 2012
Summary: There's a memorial for Jackson

Leon had kept this brief. None of them had really known Jackson, and he didn't want to sound hypocritical. This wasn't D.C. and the people here weren't politicians. They all knew what the situation was like. Instead, he opted for a brief statement, and then Ashleigh spoke a little about Jackson. When she was done, Sean and Dom took out their guitars and played.

They covered six songs: You are Mine, Amazing Grace, Stairway to Heaven, When the Man Comes Around, Knocking on Heaven's Door, and On Eagle's Wings at the end.

Leon was surprised by two that he remembered from his younger days when he was still going to Church on a much regular basis. The mix of religious and secular seemed appropriate for their group.

Savannah had barely spoken to Jackson, nothing past the nromal excanges that you had with members of the team while in training,. This shouldn't really touch her, not like Kensi or like all the other deaths, they had lately, and yet, this was the most profound memorials for her.

The first time, she'd been in a bad place, questioning everything and God. With Kensi, she didn't even have a chance to go to the funeral home. Now, they were here singing songs that brought her back to the Sundays in church, reminding her of the peace she felt when she was in God's presence. She missed those Sunday morning services, she missed that familiarity and that sense of peace that went back to her childhood.

Every word she sang seemed to bring her closer to God, closer to an internal peace that had escaped her for too long. Maybe it was time to use her cover for something good. She needed to talk to Marty first, and then G. She needed this. Her children needed this. It would also help with forging ties with the community. Yes, she'd definitely had to talk to the men in her life.

Derek waited for the end of the ceremony before approaching Eliot. "We need to talk about Nick," he whispered. "Counseling room, upstairs," he said in a louder voice, before walking to the room.

He waited until Eliot was inside and closed the door. "I don't get involved in people's life. I don't care who fucks who. I don't use profiling to get into people's business, but I do care when you confuse a boy. I will not have him think that it's all right to grope random people just because you can't keep your hands off of April. You want to fondle her, then wait until you are alone or you sit him down and explain that you want to keep your relationship private. Pick one, I don't care which, but pick."

Eliot was concerned when Derek said they needed to talk about Nick. Nick hadn't done anything out-of-line or caused an explosive reaction from others of late, that Eliot knew. Eliot followed Derek upstairs - stairs he could see now - and into the room.

It was on the tip of his tongue to ask what was wrong, when Derek went into a strongly worded dressing down. First Eliot had a flash of anger, then confusion, then it was back to anger again. He folded his arms to keep his violence in check.

"I wouldn't do anything to harm Nick in any fashion," Eliot said, clipped. "I did not fondle April, and I especially wouldn't do that sort of thing with anyone in front of a kid." The incrimination burned. "It's a misunderstanding, one I would have cleared up immediately if Nick had said something."

Eliot dug his fingers into his arm. As angry as he was at being accused for abusing a child like that, he was triply angry with himself for causing the whole situation.

"Oh please, you two have been playing the lovebirds for weeks, and really it's fine. In fact, it's great. April is a sweet lady, and Mike was never really right for her, his eyes wondering more times that I can count," he started. "So yeah, it's great, and I'm happy for you two, and it's fine for Nick to see a normal relationship - or as normal as anything is in this place. There is no reason why you shouldn't be affectionate with her. The point is that he needs to know that you don't go around randomly putting your face in people's boobs."

He snorted. "Right, because Nick is so big on sharing and emoting. I wonder why he didn't rush to ask questions about April's expression and what it meant." He stopped and sighed. "Look, just talk to April and then talk to him. You don't have to make this public, but he has to know."

First Savannah and now Morgan. What the hell? Weren't people allowed to be just friends anymore? "April and I are not together, and that was an unintentional invasion of her space that I'm not going to explain to you," Eliot growled. "I'll clear things up with Nick, and don't concern yourself, he won't be exposed to anything like it again."

"Sticking your face in her boobs is never unintentional and it's a crime in every state, unless there's a relationship," he said, and this made things worse, not better. If they were fucking, then everything was all right. If Eliot thought this was appropriate behavior, then he didn't want Nick living there.

"This is very much my concern. What you do doesn't concern me until it becomes inappropriate." Callen was going to kill Eliot if he found out about this. They didn't need a repeat of the Brian situation. "It's inappropriate when a teenager is asking me to interpret April's reaction. It's even more inappropriate when the woman in question has clearly feelings for you and might not report what amounts to an assault, whether she was injured or not. Your face, her breasts, that's called sexual assault and not unintentional invasion of space."

"Did you forget that I'm fucking blind, you sanctimonious ass?" Eliot jaw ticked with rising fury. "I was looking at her heart, not her breasts. I apologized to her, and she is the only person I need to answer to about it, so stay the hell out of this. I will clear things up with Nick. Now, move."

"You're so not using that excuse, man. You can look at her bones without leaning down, and let me make it very clear that any accusation of sexual assault is very much my answer and you do get to answer to people other than April, and if you doubt that it's the rules for everyone, then you're deluded."

Derek shook his head. If Eliot thought this was the end of it, then he was seriously deluded. "Fine, go." He'd have to speak to April, before deciding if this was going to Callen or straight to the Director.
