April didn't need to be told that Kensi was the priorty, she was a surgeon and in her eyes it was simple - mother first, baby second. That said, she'd still try everything in her might to save the baby if it was possible.
"Can you get me blood, and within a few minutes? Otherwise there is nothing you can get me for Kensi," she answered as they stepped into the infirmary. Kensi's pulse was already hard to feel, and April wasn't sure she was breathing.
Troy left the infirmary so fast after getting Kensi on the bed that he couldn't have left faster if he'd had G's power, but April didn't mind. Out of the people she'd taught it was Savannah and Jenna that April trusted not to faint. Calling to Savannah to turn the ultrasound out, she took her stethoscope and listened to Kensi's heart, hearing nothing.
"She doesn't have a pulse," she said. "Get the defibrillator." Jenna responded immediately, and while that was being done April checked the baby with the ultrasound. "The baby is alive, but if Kensi dies it won't be for long." She removed the ultrasound and took the and put the defibrillator pads in place, working and talking at the same time. "At 27 weeks he has 95% chance of survival. I have no clue what a delay of two hours will do to that percentage, but I imagine the less the delay the better. We do have oxygen and the IV equipment necessary to start treatment, so I'd say his chances are good if we get the supplies. Clear!" She stepped back as the defibrillator shocked Kensi, then returned to listen but found new pulse. Increasing the dose, she tried two more times but nothing changed.
"Get the c-section kit, we need to get him out now." Kensi was already gone, there wasn't anything else she could do for her now.
