RP: April, Leon and Derek
Who:April, Leon, Derek
Where:The farm
When:December 28
Summary:April presents her list to the Director and then talks with Derek about the result
There were so many things she wanted for the infirmary, and yet April had learned the hard way that reality and her wishes rarely coincided in this world. Things she'd taken for granted a year ago was now a luxury, and half of the things she wanted would most likely be denied if they made the list. For that reason April had already removed the x-ray from her list (they were expensive, huge and would easily be tracked) as well a contractions monitor for the deliveries as well as several other things which she could live without even though she preferred them.
She had included the ultrasound machine in her list, and hoped she would be able to argue well for it. It was by far the most expensive thing on her list, and the one that could be most easily tracked, yet she couldn't see herself working well without one so she'd included it and hoped she'd been restrictive enough with everything else that she would be able to get her way on that one.
She went to the director after the morning meeting, and once they were alone she handed him her list. "I've been as restrictive as I can be," she said. "Everything on that list is necessary, most of it is easy to find and you can buy it on-line with a fake name and have it shipped to a PO box somewhere. I can't imagine they'd raise any red flags."
"The one exception is the Ultrasound Machine, which is expensive and traceable, but it is the one piece of equipment which I cannot see myself managing without. They're one of the most widely used diagnostic tools in modern medicine, and already today have four people on the farm in need of the examination. With its help you can diagnose a range of different conditions, from gallstones to internal bleeding. Especially when dealing with trauma and emergencies, an ultrasound machine can truly save lives."
