RP: April and Eliot Who:April and Eliot Where:Their house When:Christmas morning, December 25 Summary:April has a Christmas present for Eliot
On the night they'd fled, the presents they'd all gotten each other had been blown up with everything else they owned. For most - if not all - of them, this Christmas would be without presents, but for one of them it wouldn't be.
Target might not be the place to shop for great gifts, but when there, April had still thought to pick out one thing. It wasn't what she had wanted to give, and said very little about how grateful she was for the friendship and support that Eliot offered her, but it was something, and under the circumstances it would have to be enough.
The kitchen towel and pot holder set was cheap and not the best looking, but appearance wouldn't matter to Eliot and it would serve its function. In addition, April had improved the design by stitching in a thin metal wire into the the lining. It was as deeply embedded as she could make it, completely invisible to the naked eye, but to Eliot it would make the difference between seeing them and not. Given the circumstances, and the limitations they lived with, she was rather pleased with herself for the idea.
Getting up on Christmas morning, April showered and got dressed before heading out into the living room and kitchen. She knew that Eliot would be up, he always was, and she smiled when she saw him. "Morning," she said. "And Merry Christmas," she added as she walked up to him and placed the package into his hands.
