RP: Deeks and Sam Who: Marty Deeks and Sam Hanna Where: The Ranch When: Tuesday, December 20, 2011 -- evening Summary: Marty's restless.
They had furniture. It was a little thing, but the idea of sleeping in an actual bed again was very appealing. Marty had done plenty of camping out on the beach in high school and college, sleeping on the sand or in a car nearby. But, there was only so much bedroll on the floor a man could take and he didn't think it could be at all comfortable for his pregnant wife.
Not that his pregnant wife was saying much. She'd gone out with Nova almost as soon as the furniture arrived and Marty hadn't seen her again all day. He's seen Callen. The man had come around earlier to help out for a short time, said he'd figured Marty would need some help all things considered. Although, even Callen seemed surprised to find Marty alone. They'd talked a bit about Christmas plans, the family in general. Marty didn't need his power to see that Callen was worried, too.
After Callen left, Marty finished on his own. Everything but the nursery. He didn't care if he was the only one moving things, he was not putting that nursery together without Savannah. No matter what was going on with her, when she got over it she would want to be there for that. She would hate to have missed putting together the room that would be their baby's first home, putting everything in the best place for their baby's comfort. So, he was leaving that room in boxes. They could put it together when she took an interest in it.
Thanks to Callen's help earlier and the one room left unfinished, Marty was done well before the time he'd told Savannah he would be. So, he was still on his own.
Callen had made it a point to make Marty aware he and Savannah were always welcome at his and Sam's place, together or one at a time. Though he'd resisted the desire to be part of this odd little family a year ago, he couldn't argue his exclusion anymore. Not when he was married to Savannah and Callen had made such a point of it over the last twelve months, helped along, maybe, by the training they'd done on his power. Not much they could hide from each other that way, even though they tried to pretend they hadn't seen a lot of things.
So, Marty locked up, left a light on and a note for Savannah, and headed over to Callen and Sam's.
"Hey," he greeted Sam when the large man opened the door. "Done for the day. Figured I'd see if you'd left anything to do for someone offering to lend a hand, seeing as Callen was wandering around helping us little people out earlier," he explained with a grin.
