Spencer's eyebrows drew together as Morgan mentioned Alexis. They hadn't known each other very long and he'd never really got a chance to tell her much about himself or share their lives. He didn't understand how it related, how it was the same. She was a child and maybe she'd had a crush but he had only seen a sweet girl, it couldn't be used to compare so many years worth of feelings and time spent together. He was done arguing about what he felt, he'd never claimed to be in love, he'd only said he had feelings. Which was true. The line was so hazy with such strong emotions already between them but he resented being compared to a teenager with a crush.
But saying that was only going to cause more arguing and he was done trying to reason with the unreasonable and the patronizing attitude Morgan had developed.
"Let's get back." Spencer said, looking away. It had been promising, for a moment, with a hug and what felt like progress but it seemed like one foot forward, two steps back.
