Re: Troy/Nell/Hetty
Coughing, Nell forced her eyes open to find herself laying on her right side, go back underneath her with something poking sharply into her ribs. Or was that her rib poking into her organs? She wasn't sure. It felt like it, though it probably wasn't. But, oh God everything hurt. What happened?
Pushing herself to sit up, she cried out softly as a shooting pain tore through her left side. Her hand went to the site of the pain and came away sticky with blood. Looking down, she could see a long, deep gash down her side, the piece of a window that had cut it still embedded in her hip. And now, she could see holes burned through her sleeves. Gasping a little each time she moved, she turned to look behind her and saw the building on fire.
Or, what remained of it was smoldering.
Then everything came rushing back. She'd been trying to get Troy out while Hetty held them off. "Troy?" She saw him not far away. "Hetty?" She didn't see Hetty. Turning her head frantically she could just make out the shapes of others. Had Mike Ross been running toward them? She couldn't remember. But, in no direction did she see Hetty.
Oh God. Oh God. Oh God.
Had Hetty-?
She couldn't think of that now. There were other explosions going off, people running in this direction. They had to get out. Now.
Trying to stand, she realized she'd missed the pain in her ankle about the time it gave under her. But, it was alright. Going to her knees reminded her she might have a broken rib. "Troy." She stopped as another cough took her breath away. "Troy, we have to go."
