Email: Callen to All Who: G Callen to all of ICIS Where: ICIS Systems When: Friday, November 25, 2011 Summary: G's decided not to wait until after the holiday to make his plans.
The conversation with his brother had left a bad taste in G's mouth all the rest of the holiday. He supposed he shouldn't be surprised. He'd worried before about how much of an imposition the family would be on Robert and then he'd let himself forget that and start believing in some mythical brotherly bond. He should have known better.
G needed a reminder that he was better than that, that he would never be happy in a world where self-entitlement and false appearances were not only accepted but encouraged. So, he started researching homes and then, he determined he'd need a head count before he could set any plans in motion.
From: Callen, G <g.callen@icis.org> To: undisclosed-recipients Subject: Christmas Visits
Those of you who were here last year will remember the group outing we made to the group home to deliver gifts and food Christmas morning. I will be making the same trip this year and would welcome anyone who wishes to volunteer their time to come along with me.
This is optional. You are not required to participate in anyway. And, in fact, if you have any reservations or would be too inconvenienced by the trip, don't come. This isn't something we do for us, but for the children who have no one else this Christmas.
If you would like to participate, however, I would like to know by the end of the weekend so that I can make plans. With our current numbers, it might be better to spread ourselves over two or three homes to keep from overloading each one. But, it will depend on how many wish to go.
Let me know and once I have a headcount, I'll make arrangements and follow up with those interested in a future email.
