Heya,

I know some of you have Christmas decorations, but since we were at the hotel last year, most of us wouldn't, and I'm going to go tomorrow morning to buy them. If anyone wants to join me, I need to know before hand, because we need to figure out cars.

Alexis wasn't sure what the others wanted to do. She wasn't even sure if they were religious or if they wanted ornaments in the house, and before she went out and bought things she really had to speak with them.

She knew that Renko wasn't feeling well, but she could speak with someone else. She knocked on Mike's door. "Hey, did you see Savannah's email? I thought I'd go with her, but before I do, I wanted to see what you guys wanted to do, if you want to decorate the house, if we're doing something for Christmas? And I guess it's a lot of questions, but I've always done it with my dad, so I'm not sure what you guys want."

Things had been quiet around their place, with good reason of course. Mike wasn't sure what else they could do for Renko, but he'd checked on him occasionally, mostly to just assure himself that the other man was still alive in there for his own sense of well being.

"Yeah, I was just reading that." Mike nodded when Alexis came into his room, "Ah, I don't know, to tell you the truth I hadn't really put much thought into it before the email." He told her, lifting his shoulders. He'd always lived in an apartment when he'd been old enough to do the decorating himself, and Jenny made him get a single pathetic string of lights that he hung up over his window and sometimes he got one of those rosemary trees to sit on his tiny kitchen table. That was about the extent of any decorating Mike had ever done.

"What sort of decorating do you normally do?" He wondered, "I've never done much myself."

"Not much really. We don't have a big family, so it's just the three of us," she said, smiling as she thought of them and past Christmas. "Mostly the tree and a wreath, nothing too complicated." True, it was a huge tree usually, but there wouldn't even be space for that tree in this apartment.

"What about Christmas? Callen has sent an email, but I wasn't sure if you guys celebrate early, later, if we're having dinner?" God, this really sucked; she wanted to be home with her dad, putting up the tree with him, planning about Christmas.

He nodded, "Normally I don't have a tree, I'll put some lights up around the window and I take my Grammy a wreath for her door." He told her, "So this whole actually decorating for Christmas thing is new to me - I think if there's something you wanted to do as far as decorating goes we could work it out. I don't know about Renko, maybe just avoid flashing lights and things that make noise?" It was strange to have to consider making those kinds of concessions when discussing Christmas decorating.

"Ah I don't know," He shrugged thinking about the plans they'd made for Christmas day, "We could do something on Christmas Eve - if you wanted." He shrugged. "I dunno, normally it's just me and Grammy on Christmas so I don't really do much, I don't know about Renko, I haven't talked to him, but I'm gonna spend Christmas with Harvey this year. They're doing that group home thing on Christmas too I saw in the emails."

"Right, I hadn't thought about the lights," she said with a sigh. "You know, maybe I can tell Savannah to get a wreath for us. I'll give her the money. I'm sure she won't mind picking one more thing. Knowing her, she'll be buying plenty."

Right, Harvey, because Mike had a boyfriend and they should spend Christmas together, just like she should spend it with her family, except that they weren't here. "Of course, I didn't think about it, but of course you are, and no, it's fine, don't worry about it. I guess I'll go call Savannah." She raised a hand to wave him goodbye.
